How idealistic and optimistic I seem to be here!
Fellow ZAPPAPHILES will no doubt be familiar with the 1966 EDGARD VARESE quote "The Present Day Composer Refuses To Die" (what he actually said was "The Present Day Composers Refuse To Die" but hey! I'm PEDANTIC!). Anyway, that speech continued:
"[composers] have realised the necessity of banding together and fighting for the right of the individual to secure a fair and free presentation of his work."
...which, I think neatly sums up how this MySpace mullarkey works... or as Gary Glitter put it so succinctly "D'ya wanna be in my gang, my gang oh yeah?"
