13th March 2009 -Fabchannel Stops! After nine passionate and beautiful years of sharing the most amazing concert recordings with you, Fabchannel is stopping. A great number of record labels still won't allow us to record their artists. This prevents us from offering what we need to keep Fabchannel alive. We want to sincerely thank you for all support through the years! It has been an amazing time, but unfortunately this is where it ends. With a bleeding heart we're pulling the plug of our online archive Friday 13th of March. Until that time, enjoy your favorite concerts and who knows? we'll meet again. Justin Kniest, CEO

At last! It's here! The RENALDO & THE LOAF remix project "THE MUSIC IS TABOO" (featuring, amongst other delights, one's own frankly barking interpretation of the boys' "Absence" from "Struve & Sneff") is NOW AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD from David/THE DARKENING SCALE/Ted The Loaf's own SOUNDS FROM SILENCE concern. There are currently two volumes available, with talk of more to come(?)...
Note: This is no longer available from Sounds From Silence, but from here instead:

"SCATORIGINAL" (or "Scatorigine II", take your pick) is a jazzy little toon from a year or so back, featuring yours pedantically on all the instruments (dig that crazy bass, cats!) and the multi-montaged vocal stylings of SHELFY THE RABBITSHOW REJECTING BEAR. Oh yes... We had SO much material left over from "Tales From The Winged Eyeball", that I'm still scraping that particular barrel (of laughs)...

Subject : This week’s guest vocalist...

...is me, actually! "Bermondsey Deutsch, mate?" "DEUTSCHE WASCHE" was a 'song' that originally appeared on the JOHNSON'S GRIDLING BAND album "The Winky Elves Are Coming", with cod-teutonic vocals by SNILTWEASEL (DIRECTOR).

Some months later, THE ENTIRE TOP SHELF wrote some extra lyrics and RABBITHOLE SAM and I recorded a new version to go on the B-side of the cassingle of "COMMERCIAL SONG" (see THE FUTURE OF ROCK & ROLL?). Snilt was not available, so I ended up doing the recitative myself.

Shelfy had this to say in the Spring 1984 edition of "The Gridler"...
"Deutsche Wasche... Strange keyboards and Rabbit Hole's Wimbornesque© guitar… and the lyrics, yikes! they're in German so they must be good. So this is what Dusseldwarfs listen to in their dank aquariums? There is a mystique about Berlin that appears to be lacking in Stockport or Chelmsford. I think that bands try to make it in Germany because the punters over there can't understand the lyrics. Thank you... So how about giving up rock and roll for lent and buying "The Commercial Single" - it's only a quid for Heaven's sake!"

Our sincerest apologies to any REAL Germans listening to this. We all know you've got a great sense of humour!
